Bwills joins Triumph as moose announces retirement

The IEM Beijing-Haidian runners-up were forced to make a move after losing the Canadian to VALORANT.

Kaleb "?moose?" Jayne has taken a step back from Counter-Strike in order to pursue a career in VALORANT, the North American organisation has revealed. The former eUnited and Envy player has been replaced by Brendan "?Bwills?" Williams, a standout performer for New England Whalers during his brief tenure with the team.

The announcement comes just one day after Triumph finished in second place in IEM Beijing-Haidian, in which they pulled off a major upset by beating Liquid in the semi-finals. According to Triumph, moose notified the organisation prior to the tournament of his wish to leave the team due to a "loss of passion for CS".

moose makes the switch to VALORANT

Bwills spent only two months with New England Whalers, who announced on Sunday that their players had been allowed to explore free agency due to the financial impact of the pandemic on the organisation's parent company, Greenhouse Agency. He averaged a 1.14 rating in all competitions for the team, who were one victory away from qualifying for ESL Pro League Season 13.

"We’re excited to have Bwills join the team," Shawn Bischoff, Triumph's General Manager, said in a statement. "It’s always a pleasure to bring on hungry new talent like Brendan and we believe that he will be an important piece in our team’s future. We are thankful for Moose’s time with our team. His experience and consistency have led us to many victories. We wish him the best of luck in his move to compete in VALORANT."

Triumph's first test with Bwills will be in DreamHack Masters Winter, which will run from November 30 through to December 6, with the team facing Rebirth in their opening match.

With these changes, Triumph will field the following roster:

    United States Alan "?Shakezullah?" Hardeman
    United States Ryan "?ryann?" Welsh
    United States Paytyn "?junior?" Johnson
    Canada Erik "?penny?" Penny
    United States Brendan "?Bwills?" Williams

    Brazil Marcos "?tacitus?" Castilho (coach)

If you actually take a look at the stats, valorant is going down in numbers and been like since the launch. No gross in popularity even with the pros moving to it. While cs has been blowing up in numbers. No clue where this thing comes from where people say CS is dying is valorant is growing. Valorant is not growing. It's going downhill and I fucking love it. The game is horrible.

sucks NA scene revolves around $$$ and people can't chase what they love because they need to drop it and do other stuff just to survive. The "American Dream" for sure. Good thing it's not as frowned upon to aim high in EU or cs would be dead.

to be fair in the us it’s almost impossible to live on minimum wage which is what a lot of these pros make eu tier 3 pros make around the same amount but they have a stronger safety net iirc oh and there’s only like 4 orgs rn, if ur lucky enough to be signed to one you’d make like 1k a month at most

Ahhh to be fair CSGO & Val have similar gun mechanics so, the skill set transitions better then other games. BUT, Overwatch, Apex, PUBG, CrossFire and surprisingly Fortnite pros are in some teams. But, talent will naturally form it was just a gold rush scenario, Check these teams out some names might surprise you if you're into other esports. liquipedia.net/valorant/First_Strike/Nor.. liquipedia.net/valorant/First_Strike/Eur..

Whats funny is that all the people who hate on Valorant are simply just too dumb to know how to play it, otherwise they would agree that it is a good game just like csgo. Valorant is extremely fun once you know how to play it and this is coming from a csgo lover of the past 10+ years

An arguable point. Everyone is different, I know even if I learnt everything about Valorant I would still dislike it. Not hate, just a lack of accessibility and fixed roles in a game aren't my forte. It's poor to watch, though, I don't think that point can be argued. I hope they can improve viewership experience soon!
    2020-11-24 02:45

No. It's actually great to watch, the reason the viewership is so low is because most people are too stupid to know whats going on when they're watching so they don't watch. Also lan tournaments havn't been introduced yet either in Valo.

I played in the beta, I know the different characters and abilities. I didn't say anything about not knowing it. Wow Jett can zoom around and Raze has bombs. It takes a lot of time to learn totally! Valorant is just not fun to watch for a lot of people and that's it. Is it that hard to understand? I know I'm not the only one lmao. Like I said everyone is different and if you enjoy it good for you. Not everyone has to share the same sentiment as you.
