ENCE sign doto on two-year deal; sAw joins as head coach
The highest-ranked Finnish team has acquired the services of two HAVU members, completing their roster ahead of IEM Beijing-Haidian.
Joonas "?doto?" Forss and Eetu "?sAw?" Saha have made the switch from HAVU to ENCE, filling in the gaps left by the departures of Jani "?Aerial?" Jussila and Slaava "?Twista?" R?s?nen from their playing and coaching spots, respectively.
With Twista relegated to an analyst role following his 15.75-month ESIC ban and Aerial taking indefinite sick leave, ENCE considered their options for the future of the team, but concluded that they "want to keep a full Finnish lineup and coaching staff", leading them to add reach out for HAVU's duo.
The duo was part of HAVU's greatest success when, earlier this year, they placed third in Flashpoint 1 which earned them a $100,000 prize and saw them peak at #21 in the world rankings.
In his interview for ENCE TV, doto said that leaving HAVU wasn't an easy decision. "We experienced a lot together. We were stuck in the US for a month and a half and know each other really well," the 24-year old explained. "It was a tough decision to make but I see it as a necessary move in terms of continuity of my career. You don’t really get these chances often".
doto, who has been bought out of HAVU and signed a two-year deal with his new team, says that "the opportunity to join ENCE came as a surprise" and that he didn't expect to be their first option. Experienced in many different roles, doto has recently made a transition from entry fragger to lurker due to clashes with Olli "?sLowi?" Pitk?nen, and will continue playing the lurk and anchor roles in ENCE as well.
On the other hand, ENCE's new head coach sAw has decided to hang up his mouse and accept a new challenge: "Today marks a new chapter in my life as I will end my playing career and move on to a coaching role. It's a move I have been pondering on for a while," the former HAVU in-game leader explained.
ENCE will debut their new roster in IEM Beijing-Haidian 2020 Europe, where they face Astralis on November 13:
